The 11th hour" is mainly deal with the issue and concern of climate change due to our false behavior and attitude. World have civilize suddenly which end up use natural resources cruelly.
The man on the video state Catharina is just for beginning, he said we will face bigger and bigger problem in near future, he mention about the global warming and how most people have not recognize the result it will bring to them. Thom Hartmann said "Problem is not a technology, problem is not too much carbon dioxide, problem is not a wasting, the problem is way that we are thinking, the problem is fundamentally cultural problem. I am totally agreed with his statement, I believe few people who have recognize the real problem is the reason why we are still living in nice and clean environment. They have created alternative solar power, alternative vehicle, and alternative flight, not only that false behavior that we are unconsciously do in daily life such as not using public transformation, not care for the waste, etc. as the things that we are using in daily life. I believe if this false behavior and attitude is fixed, our environment will be preserved..

April 18 Friday "Bullshit"

This film is about  Vandana Shiva's quest to eliminate the use of genetically modified food and seeds in her country as well as other countries. She mention that the company Mosanto and how they frequently challenged by creating and marketing genetically modified seeds since it needs herbicides, fertilizers, and other chemical in order to become a crop. This is reason why some farmer is becoming suicide since they could not afford the money to purchase various product. And some farmers end up creating doubt, and if nature disaster happens they lose all the outcome they have done and they end up losing their poverty because of the loans. This is a huge problem that this film addressed.
Cocacola state that India is getting better due to accept United Stated culture, so India also experience globalism, however Vandana Shiva thought that this ruins India, she thought that due to the companies and factories from other countries they are having trouble with finding drinkable water, since the company have changed "good water" to polluted water. And Coca-Cola company have said she suppose to find the truth, she is not doing social activity. However I believe Coca-Cola must accept the truth of 12 family have lost drinkable water because of them, this must be solved before they argued whether Coca-Cola company must be kicked out or not.

April 15 Common Problems

The brief definition for "Tragedy of the commons theory" is economic problem that individual tend to destroy the greatest benefit they can get from the given resource. Earth is resource that everyone is using yet also abusing because of natural tragedy of the human being. 
Most people have not recognize serious problems that we might get in near future, yet some people have recognize the problem such as group Kyoto protocol, their goal is to bring nations together in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and try to slow global warming. They are monitoring and precise records of the countries, they also provide the adaptation fund to help country financially. And also nationally, South Korea have set up the date nationally for planting trees, in every year of April 5th started in 1949.
 Kyoto protocol and south korea have done sustainable management that every people should do yet people have not done it due to the tragedy of human being.
 The great thing is few nations and people group have recognized that everyone had to have interest of saving common resources that we must have and they agreed to look beyond short-term gain and ignore self-interest for the sustainable future. This attitude is what we need for using great given resource. 

Too Much, [ Population growth ] March 28

It sound really cruel yet I believe growth of population is a huge problem that we must fix before we move on to next generation. Earth's population is reaching almost seven billion yet our planet resource are limited and environmental is getting toxic. The scientist estimate that in 2050 Earth's population will reach almost nine billion people, people need to recognize this issue seriously.   

The biggest problems of growth population is environment problem, we are already experiencing global warming, ice are melting due to hot weather. In near future we will hardly find green land due to increasing of building houses, and also our atmosphere will be contaminated due to cars, air conditioning, heating, and etc, this will result increasing of temperature and because of this issues many animals and plants will die due to lack of ability to adapt.

The another biggest problems is lack of planet resource, we are now experiencing lack of drinkable water, this is not yet the problems of lich country yet, but they have increasing the price of drinkable water since they do recognize huge problems that we will face, the poor countries however they used barrel to store the water when it rains, they do not have such thing as drinkable water, this is already huge problem. Yet we will facing lack of food resources due to cruel raise of animals, and environment change, this will destroy the food chain.

Lastly, people are more likely unemployed, due to over population and most countries is experience this problem now, because economies are unable to provide jobs for the growing number of young people. However they still could not find any solution, and if we do not stop over population this problems never get fixed.

Population growth is a the huge problem that people have to fixed before we go on to next generation, people have to recognize the problems and government must find solution to either reduce growth of population or find great solution for better future.

  

Term Paper Topic : Animal rights

Animals should have their own rights that they can be free from human being needs and live in natural. But I will make my powerpoint to highlight what the animal rights really are.

Mainly, I will support the idea that there would be a lot of good ripple effects by respecting animals' right.

I believe animal right is a very fragile, sensitive subject. 

However, as we all know, people use animals to test the cosmetic products, or to approve new medicine by the law. 

But do we have to use animals for our sake of science? the answer is no. 

The choice comes from our moral consideration for animals , and because of satisfaction of human being's curiosity, the treatments on animals leaves only the medical experiments. Then why are the people who agrees with use animals as our sake of science but disregard the moral consideration for animals ? 

first, the people who agree with treatments on animal, thinks that the animals are not

important as human being, and they naturally thinks that animals are for human beings’ needs, however even though animals are not smart enough to treated as human being they do feel the pain that they suppose not to have. 

  

Well, right does not comes from intelligence it comes from the instinct of human mind,

being intelligence is not mean human can rule the animals as they wanted . For instance, infant cannot read, speak or express oneself idea to other people. Then in this case, who can tell and say that this little cute infant does not have any right to live freely? We all know the answer. They do have their own rights !

Not only the infants but also animals should be treated the same way as we treat human being. 

Just because of the lower intelligence comparison to human being', no one can treat and judge any living creature to no right life. 

Therefore, I strongly argue that treatments on animals are not moral consideration for animals and animals’ right.

The question of how you were raised to relate to nature, 
realizing that your relationship to nature is not objective?, can be reinterpret as the question of how do you think about nature?.
 In period of pre-Renaissance, people believed that the nature is inviolableness, this is reason why they believed whenever nature disaster happen, God is the one who punish them, so people in this period actually fear the nature. And few more century later during the renaissance period people think the nature is equal to them, so people in this period people actually question about nature and curious how nature disaster happens. 
 In Modernity period which is after 17 century to today people totally changed their mind of human is greater than the nature, since people can actually predict the nature disaster and they are actually study nature.  
So the answer for how you were raised to relate to nature, realizing that your relationship to nature is not objective is people in today actually learn and understand the nature and the nature is not the objective but the money or the eternal life is the objective and main goals for them.

How and why do companies target children?

Most companies target children when they advertise their product, according to Yale Rudd Center for Food Policy & obesity, in 2012 the fast food companies have spent $4.6 billion for advertisement and children was targeted by this advertisement. Fast food company advertised their product by using TV advertisement, since children ages of six to eleven have seen 10% or fewer TV fast food advertisement, and children continued to see three to five fast food advertisement per days, this brings huge benefit and profit to companies since children are the one who will let their parents buy the food for them, and also in long term children are the one who will purchase their product when they grow up. This is the reason why companies target children and TV advertisement is most common method of targeting children.

How does capitalism drive consumerism

I believe capitalism control the directions for consumerism, since basic description of capitalism is an economic and political system in the way of countries trade and the company itself are ruled by private owners for profit, because the company itself is ruled by private owner not the state or government they have to satisfy their consumers so they charge less money to consumers but better quality product since they compete so many other private companies. Thus, the reason why capitalism drive consumerism is because the companies are owned by private owners so they have to rely on consumer in order to make profit out of them, this is why they protect consumers and make better products.

political ecology and global capitalism (sugar) - For Jan 31 Assignment

Sugar is form of organic chemical which can be extracted in various plant and also all of green planets. We as human consume organic chemical so called sugar in daily life. The sugar itself was not important until the middle of the nineteenth century, yet the sugar cane became valuable source after middle nineteenth century due to first domesticated in New Guinea around 8000 B.C, and two thousand years later, the corn cane was moved to the Philippines and India, and possibly Indonesia. This is the starting point of when we use sugar in daily life.

             The sugar cane definitely relate to political ecology, since the meaning of political ecology is "political ecology is the study of the politics of environmental changes that influence the changes in socioeconomic power relations of the people in a society which may be due to natural or human induced phenomena and development", political ecology basically means politics view of environmental change that are caused by human or nature since the sugar was created by the nature and found by human, so that people  in New Guinea could cultivate sugar cane and spread all over the world in today, thus sugar cane is relate with political ecology.

             The sugar cane cannot be grown in all over the place in the world, there are certain place where sugar cane can be grown. This cause the global capitalism, global capitalism is basically means trade with anywhere in the world if it benefit you. So the country where it could produce the sugar cane select the price and make profit out of it. Thus sugar cane is also impact of global capitalism.

I believe that capitalism can not be compatible with equality and social justice.
Things might look different from the view point of someone else. However,
I would like to define the capitalism as governance structure or as possessive right structure, so that companies can enter into competition with equality and share right information from its industry. But the problem is that our society cannot compete with equality. For instance, if when Nike produce 100 dollar value shoes, and if other company produce exactly same shoes or similar ones for only 50 dollars, Nike company likely to face its bankrupts. Therefore, Nike should lower its shoe price lower than the other rival company so that it can continue its business and make profits from the Nike shoe company. However, in this competitive industry, they are not able to make a freely competitive circumstance.
and I also want to define the relationship between equality and capitalism.
I believe that equality from capitalism is equality from starting line or equality from opportunity. However, this equality from capitalism is highly related to the government and politics. However, If the capitalism was enough to be compatible with equality or social justice, there should have no history such as bankrupts or IMF issues because the reasons from economy depression comes from un equality from capitalism.
Therefore, I believe that capitalism can not be compatible with equality and justice.
